After an all-nighter at the capitol, the House gave final legislative approval at about 6AM yesterday morning, to an energy bill that will significantly change the deregulated energy market structure in Connecticut. The Senate passed the bill earlier Tuesday night.

There was tremendous opposition to this bill from the electric utilities, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association, and competitive retail electric suppliers. We expect them to turn their lobbying might towards the governor to demand a veto.
